The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire. Then the Lord will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over all the glory will be a canopy. It will be a shelter and a shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. (signs of  the Exodus about the presence of God.)

Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. Put on your garments of splendor, O Jerusalem, the holy city…How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns” Listen! your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the Lord returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes. Burst into songs of joy together you ruins of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people.

4:6, 31 Raise the signal to go to Zion! Flee for safety without delay! For I am bringing disaster from the north, even terrible destruction. I hear a cry as of a woman in labor, a groan as of one bearing her first child-the cry of the Daughter of Zion gasping for breath, stretching out her hands and saying, Alas!  51: 10, 24, 35 The Lord has vindicated us; come, let us tell in Zion what the Lord our God has done. Before your eyes I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the wrong they have done in Zion, declares the Lord. May the violence, done to our flesh be upon Babylon, say the inhabitants of Zion. May our blood be on those who live in Babylonia, says Jerusalem.

1:4, 6, 17 The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to her appointed feasts. All her gateways are desolate, she is in bitter anguish.  2: 1, 4, 6, 8, 10, 13, 18 How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger!…He has poured his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion…The Lord has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths;…The Lord determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion…The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence…(mourning) What can I say for you? with what can I compare you, O Daughter of Jerusalem? to what can I liken you, that I may comfort you, O Virgin Daughter of Zion? Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?

4:2, 11, 22 How the precious sons of Zion, once worth their weight in gold, are now considered as pots of clay, the work of a potters hands!…He kindled a fire in Zion that consumed her foundations. O Daughter of Zion, your punishment will end; he will not prolong your exhile.

Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Be glad O people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness, He sends your abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the survivors whom the Lord calls.

3: 16, 17, 21 The Lord will from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the sky will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel. Then you will know that I, the Lord your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill. Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her. Their bloodguilt which I have not pardoned, I will pardon.

1:2 “The Lord roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem…

6:1 Woe to you who are complacent in Zion…

17, 21 But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will possess its inheritance. Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. and the kingdom will be the Lord’s.

3:10, 12 Therefore because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets…

4:2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13 Many nations will come and say, “Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob…The Law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. I will make a lame remnant, those driven away a strong nation. The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion from that day and forever. As for you, O watchtower of the flock, O stronghold of the Daughter of Zion, the former dominion will be restored to you; kingship will come to the Daughter of Jerusalem. Rise and thresh, O Daughter of Zion, for I will give you horns of iron

3:14, 16 (17) Sing O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem! On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The Lord God is with you, he is mighty to save, He will take great delight in you he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

1:14, 16, 17 …This is what the Lord Almighty says: “I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion, but I am very angry with the nations that feel secure. I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem, declares the Lord Almighty…My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem.”

2:7, 10, 11 “Come O Zion! Escape, you who live in the Daughter of abylon!” …for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye. “Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion, for I am coming, and I will live among you, declares the Lord.” Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people.

8:2-3 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “ I am very jealous for Zion; I am burning with jealousy for her.” I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem, then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.”

9:9-13, 16, 17 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding a donkey on a colt, the foal of a donkey. He will proclaim peace to the nations, His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit…I will bend Judah as I bend my bow and fill it with Ephraim. I will rouse your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and make you a warrior’s sword. They will sparkle in his hand like jewels in a crown. How attractive and beautiful they will be!.
